Simple Sauteed Cabbage

An easy stovetop cabbage recipe made with just a little garlic and olive oil to bring out the natural flavors of the cabbage.

  1. Set a large sauté pan with high sides or a sauce pan over medium high heat. Once the pan has heated up, add the olive oil.
  2. Let the olive oil warm up in the pan for about 30 seconds, and then carefully add half of the cabbage to the pan and stir.  Cook the cabbage for about 4 minutes, or until it begins to brown.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium low, add the rest of the cabbage, 1/4 cup of water, the salt, pepper, and garlic, and stir to combine.
  4. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 8 minutes for the cabbage to be tender but still have a bite.
